Deacon Ed Danko

Deacon Ed and Jeanne come to us from Sacred Heart Parish in Bowie, Maryland. Deacon Ed has been a deacon in the Archdiocese of Washington, DC, since his ordination in August, 2000.

Deacon Danko has worked for the U.S. government with Federal Aviation Agency and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. After retiring from the government in 1984, he worked for Lockheed Martin until 1999. Jeanne was a registered nurse and worked at several hospitals in the Washington area.

The Danko’s have been coming to the Bethany area for vacations for the last 26 years. They have recently moved into their new home in Ocean View.

Deacon Ed and Jeanne are currently investigating areas of interest for ministry here at St. Ann’s. They will make a fine addition to the pastoral staff and prove to be a real asset to our faith community. We wish them God’s blessings as they embark on this new chapter in their lives and ministry!

Council Member John Sullivan - I have been a member of Saint Ann's Parish for the past six years and have worshiped here many years previously during vacations.  I am currently a Eucharistic Minister and have helped coordinate the Parish's Special Event for the building program.

For the previous thirty years I served in the United States Army traveling around the world wherever the Army sent my family and me.  During this time, I was involved in starting a parish in Seoul, Korea, Our Lady of Peace, where I served as President of the Parish Council. I have also served as a lector and a member of RCIA programs.

My goal is to support the mission of Saint Ann's to be a community that welcomes everyone an server our neighbors.

Council Member Cathy Earl - As a native Delawarean born in Wilmington, my summer memories include a much smaller St. Ann's Church which is now Delaney Hall.  A graduate of St. Elizabeth's grade school and high school I received my bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Delaware.  After teaching for 30 years, which included a 20 year sojourn in Texas, my husband and I retired here in the place we have always called home.  I is my privilege to currently serve the St. Ann's family as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, treasurer of the Sodality, manager of the gift shop, co-chairman of the antiques booth for the bazaar, and Pastoral Council secretary.  I am also a volunteer mentor at Frankford Elementary School as well as an AARP volunteer with their Tax-Aide program.

Council Member Ronnie Malone retired to Bethany with her husband Jim in 1996 after she retired from Rutgers University as director of communications and public affairs.
She has three children and five grandchildren.  Her hobbies include walking, cooking, golf and traveling especially to see her family in the US and Ireland.
She is a board member at Most Blessed Sacrament School and serves on its marketing committee.  Cooking at Casa San Francisco and raising funds for its programs is very important to her.  At St. Ann's she is a Eucharistic Minister, a lector, and since September executive officer of the Parish Council.  Living here is a blessing in her life.
